Guidelines for recruitment of Project assistants (PA), Post-doctoral researchers (PD) and Full time research Faculty(FTRF)
- PA: PA are required in the areas of Electrochemical sensing, Organic synthesis and electro organic synthesis, Materials Physics/chemistry.
- The candidate must have cleared M.Sc Physics or Chemistry.
- Stipend: Rs 12,000/month for one year. The appointment is for one year and extendable up to two years.
- Suitable candidates can register for PhD at SJU in the subsequent session.
- Rolling appointments, open throughout the year.
- Post-doctoral fellows who would like to pursue their research in the fields of Materials Chemistry/Physics, Organic and electro organic synthesis, Electrochemical sensing and Economics may apply.
- Positions are open and applications will be received through the year.
- Applicants should have a PhD in the relevant/related field and should have a minimum of three publications in SCIE, SSCI, AHCI, SCOPUS indexed journals.
- Appointment will be for a period of one year and may be extended up to two years.
- The candidate is expected to publish a minimum of two SCI indexed papers.
- The appointment on contract will be for two years. After two years of contract, the contract will be extended for three years. If the institution is satisfied at this stage, the researcher will be absorbed as full faculty (fitted into the cadre and scale in commensuration with number of years of service and API score) to fill the vacancy arising out of retirement/resignation.
- The candidate must publish a minimum number of research articles (the exact number to be fixed in advance in consultation with SJRIC, depending on the field) in well-established journals, with St Joseph’s University (SJU) as the affiliated institution. The candidate is also expected to make efforts to secure funded research projects.
- The prescribed minimum number of publications per year is a target intended to motivate researchers. It is perfectly acceptable to publish fewer papers if they appear in high-impact journals. The assessment will include a qualitative component and will not be based solely on quantitative criteria. Co-authored articles are acceptable; however, preference will be given to first-authored or corresponding-authored publications.
- All research expenditure will be borne by the SJRIC including the research travel. Incentives for published articles will be given as per SJRIC policy. No article processing fees will be paid. We have certain equipment and when the measurements are done outside, the service charges are paid by SJRIC. A consumables grant will be provided. This has to be proposed by the researcher beforehand.
- A lab space and an initial grant will be given by SJRIC.
- No administrative work is given to the candidate. He/She may take some classes to the PG and PhD students after due arrangements by the Dean, SJRIC.
- Interested candidates may apply at: https://sju.linways.com/v4/adm-applicant/login
- For any clarification or information, please email to the Dean, SJRIC: researchdirector@sju.edu.in.
