Read moreSt Joseph’s Research and Innovation Council (SJRIC) has its origins in “St Joseph’s Research Center”- the research unit that coordinated research activities in the erstwhile St Joseph’s College as early as 1986 when it became the first affiliated college in Karnataka to offer postgraduate programmes. In 1999, the departments of Chemistry and Botany were recognized as the research centers to offer doctoral degrees under Bangalore University while, the departments of English and Physics were recognized from the year 2016. The permissions were renewed in 2019 and 2021 respectively. Bangalore university has awarded 10 PhD. degrees in Chemistry, 7 in Botany, one each in English and Kannada while there are two students in Chemistry still pursuing their PhD. through St Joseph’s College (autonomous).
