Functions and Responsibilities of the SJRIC

The functions and responsibilities of the St Joseph’s Research and Innovation Council (SJRIC) are as follows:

SJRIC develops policies and guidelines to maximize research output of the university which include research policy, ethical considerations in research, publications and patents and guidelines for conduct of the Ph.D. program.

SJRIC plans the budget for the various research programs of the University and monitors the initialization of the allocated budget. It builds up and maintains the research infrastructure.

SJRIC facilitates collaboration with industries, NGOs and other HEIs for promoting research and community needs.

SJRIC helps identify patentable research output and provides legal and monitoring support to the research in patenting the research output. It monitors the academic conduct and ethical practices of research carried out in the University.

SJRIC promotes research among the staff and students through various platforms such as seed money grants for early career researchers, organizing FDPs, workshops and conferences and facilitating MoUs with national/international institutes.

SJRIC coordinates Ph.D. programmes, Post-Doctoral Fellowships, Full time Research Faculty Programmes, Dedicated Research programmes under St Joseph’s university.
